Privacy Statement
Effective August 29, 2026
Viking Realty is a licensed real estate brokerage in the State of Indiana, 2501 N. Wheeling Ave., Muncie, IN 47303. This statement covers information collected through this website and held in the internal systems we use to run transactions.
What we collect
Two kinds of information, from two places.
From this website: whatever you type into a form — your name, email address, phone number, the property address you asked about, and your message. We do not require an account, and we never ask for financial account numbers, Social Security numbers, or identity documents through this website.
From working with us: once you are a client, our transaction records hold your name and contact details, the property address, the agreed price, the key dates in your transaction — contract, inspection, financing, closing — and notes our agents write to keep your file straight.
Where it is stored
Website enquiries and transaction records are stored in a hosted database provided by Supabase, running on servers located in Canada. Our website is served by Cloudflare. Our email runs on Google Workspace, our website analytics are provided by Google Analytics, and our newsletter, if you subscribe, is handled by MailerLite.
These providers process the information on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes. We mention where the database physically sits because you are entitled to know, not because it changes your rights.
Who can see it
Only Viking Realty staff with an active account, and only through an individual login — there are no shared passwords. Access is limited by role: an assistant who works for one agent can see only that agent's clients and transactions, and nobody else's. That restriction is enforced by the database itself rather than by hiding pages, so it holds even if someone goes looking.
When someone leaves, we revoke their access. We keep their name attached to the work they did, because transaction records have to remain accurate.
What we do with it
We use it to answer you and to carry out the work you have asked us to do. If you request a valuation, we use the property address to research comparable sales. If you are buying, we use your criteria to set up a search.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your information. We do not send it to lead-buying networks or referral brokers. We do not use it to advertise to you elsewhere. If you ask us to stop contacting you, we stop.
We disclose information when the law requires it, and when it is necessary to complete a transaction you have asked us to complete — for example, providing your details to a title company, lender, inspector, or cooperating broker already involved in your deal.
Cookies
We use Google Analytics on the public pages to count visits and see which pages people actually read. It sets cookies that tell one visit apart from the next. We use it to learn that a listing page was popular — not to build a profile of you. There is no advertising tracking and no cross-site tracking, and we do not sell or share this information.
Analytics runs only on the public pages. It is not present in our staff back office or in the client portal, so nothing about your transaction — your name, your address, or what stage your deal is at — is ever sent to Google. The back office sets one sign-in cookie, which only exists for people who work here.
You can opt out of Google Analytics on every site you visit using Google'sbrowser add-on, or by turning off cookies for this site in your browser. Nothing on this site stops working if you do.
If we later add an MLS property search that requires further cookies, this statement will be updated before that goes live.
MLS listing data
Property information originating from the Indiana Regional MLS is governed by IRMLS rules and applicable IDX display regulations. It is provided for consumers' personal, non-commercial use and may not be used for any purpose other than identifying properties consumers may be interested in purchasing. Listing data is deemed reliable but is not guaranteed accurate.
Our internal tools
We build some of our own software to avoid entering the same property details into two systems. Where those tools handle client information, it is stored in the same database described above, under the same access rules. Where they connect to outside services — the MLS, or our transaction management system — they send only what that service needs to do its job.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that never become transactions are kept only as long as they are useful, and you can ask us to delete them at any time.
Completed transaction records are different: Indiana requires real estate brokers to retain transaction records for a set period, and we keep them for at least that long. We cannot delete those on request while that obligation applies, and we will tell you plainly if that is the situation.
Security
All traffic to this site and to our systems is encrypted in transit. Access requires an individual account, and permissions are enforced at the database level rather than only in the interface. Credentials for outside services are not stored in our website's source code.
No system is perfect, and we would rather say so than imply otherwise. If we ever discover a breach affecting your information, we will tell you.
Your choices
You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it, or tell us to stop contacting you. Emailadmin@viking-realty.com or call765-730-8714 and a person will handle it — not a form.
Children
This website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Changes
Any change to this statement is posted here with a revised effective date. We update it when what we actually do changes, which is the only reason a statement like this is worth anything.
